PINK PISTOLS, LGBT PRO-GUN Club’s Membership shoots up after Orlando

The Pink Pistols is a pro-gun LGBT Community that asks members to set up task forces to protect the gay centres, sponsor shooting courses and help Homosexuals And Transgenders get licensed to carry guns.

The organisation, whose motto is “pick on someone your own calibre”, was started  in 2000, in an era when openly expressed homosexuality was still a tentative venture and gay marriage an aspiration in the United States.

The group, decreasing in numbers over time, has recently experienced an unprecedented surge in memberships, right after the Orlando attacks.

The Pink Pistols Facebook page was inundated with  requests. The email inbox of Gwendolyn Patton, the founder, filled. Her phone began ringing off the hook.

Mrs Patton believes some 1500 people joined in the two days after the attack alone.
