Teenage Girl comes out as gay in a Disney Ride

Such is the case with Gina, who recently spoke to BuzzFeed News about coming out to her family in a pretty unique way.

The 16-year-old girl from California, USA,  said she knew about her sexual orientation for about a year, and she had been thinking of different ways to tell her family about it, but in a rather peculiar way that best reflected who she really is.

“I am not the type of person to have a deep, sit-down conversation, so I wanted to tell them in a lighthearted and fun way.” – She said.

Gina came up with what she described as the “perfect” plan – she made a sign saying “I’m gay!” and took it on a trip to the Disneyland resort in California with her mom, where she posed proudly for the camera on Splash Mountain.

After seeing the photo, her mom sent it to her dad and brother – Gina said her family’s reaction was “so positive”, commenting: “My dad and brother said they were already 70% sure I was gay but my mom had no idea.”

Gina later tweeted the photo, captioned: “This is how I came out yesterday lolol.”
